Mother’s Day was pretty special today.

Mike and Affro got me my very first card and some lovely fingerless gloves.

We went for a walk along Kaiapoi River and Woodend Beach and it was really lovely with the sun shining and the wind at bay.

Mother’s day has often been a source of heartbreak but today I felt a bit more at peace in my journey. I feel pretty lucky to have a loving partner and be a dog mum.

It was lovely to see Mike’s mum and have a video call with mine. I spared a thought for my step mum and my step-siblings who are grieving their mum.

All in all, it was a good day and I’m sending my thoughts and hugs to anybody who might be having a tough day.
